Además de la tecnología propietaria IsoCorder de grabación multi-pista, que provee la capacidad de grabar hasta 8 canales de vídeo a partir de cualquiera de las entradas o salidas, TriCaster 850 Extreme ofrece importantes ventajas, como soporte directo para cualquier dispositivo o sistema Apple AirPlay, y capacidades de ecualizador y compresor/limitador en cada salida o entrada audio.

El soporte para Apple AirPlay permite añadir vídeo y audio desde iPad, iPod o iPhone a la producción de eventos en directo.

TriCaster puede soportar dos streams AirPlay de audio y video simultáneos, incluso de manera wireless. También son nuevas las transiciones, con efectos de movimiento de vídeo y audio que pueden sacarse de un total de 11 librerías de animaciones.

El Animation Store Creator, por otra parte, es un editor de transiciones que permite al usuario crear sus propias transiciones a partir de secuencias de ficheros gráficos creadas en cualquier paquete gráfico del mercado.

El usuario también tendrá ahora la posibilidad de configurar, almacenar e importar presets y configuraciones favoritas y usar el visor web integrado para acceder de forma online a las cuentas CDN y webs, para ver y o testear los eventos incluso durante la producción en directo del evento.

Se han añadido mejoras a los Media Players, que incluyen nivel de audio ajustable para cada clip y mejora en la compatibilidad de formatos; se puede seleccionar e importar todo tipo de ficheros multimedia, incluyendo Apple ProRes para ser usados en los DDR del TriCaster; y el canal Alfa de salida permite más flexibilidad.

Otra característica única del TriCaster 850 Extreme consiste en la adición del código QR (Quick Response, o Respuesta Rápida) a la interfaz de usuario.
